Sonoma: How to disable this correction box appearing when texting?
this box appear all the time and is very distracting, how can I disable it while maintaining the auto-correction function?

Go to System Settings, type in "predict", click on "Spelling and predictions". An internal window will appear. Turn off "Show inline predictive text".

Did you turn off all options for autocorrect?
I never see these things, as I prefer to write it all myself.
In System Settings->Keyboard->Input Sources, you can turn "Correct spelling automatically", "Capitalize words automatically" and "Show inline predictive text" all OFF.
Then in specific applications, like Safari (where I am writing this), Edit->Spelling and Grammar, make sure that everything is unchecked. Enjoy writing without intrusive help from your mac :-)
As far as I know you can't. You can send Apple feedback if you like.
Only now I noticed that you said "while maintaing the autocorrection". Now I see why dialabrain said you can't.
thank you for reminding me that..bitter sweet
You're welcome.
