Connect 2 Bluetooth speakers to an imac?
Is it possible to connect 2 Bluetooth speakers to a 2021 imac? Not for stereo sound, but to have speakers in different rooms.
iMac 24″, macOS 12.4

Have you considered Sonos speakers? They connect via Wi-Fi and their portable speakers can connect via Wi-Fi or BlueTooth and you can connect them (if they are the same model) as stereo pairs. It's also a great time to buy as it's Black Friday. I have a total of 9 in my home and yesterday I had all 9 connected to my Mac to play music throughout the house.
Yes, I did look at the Sonos speakers. There are a little bit too expensive. As per my original question, I did find the answer eventually doing more research. I probably should've done so before posting the question.
They sound phenomenal and do so much more than the home pods. The model that competes with the home pod minis are 100% portable, support wi-fi and BlueTooth, can be setup as a stereo pair, can hold a charge for 8 hours (yup I have tested that), they integrate with just about every every music service out there (Apple Music, Amazon Prime, Pandora, Sirius, and the list goes on. They are dead simple to set up and look good. This model is called the Roam and can be had for about $134 right now. They also support several of the voice control protocols including Alexa, Google Voice and Sonos has their own. So you can tell it things like "Alexa, set volume to 4 to adjust the volume or Alexa turn on the patio lights, or Alexa what is the temperature in Honolulu right now.
I take my little Roam with me when I'm outside in the yard working and play music, or when I'm BBQing or Smoking some food outside it comes with me so I can do things like listen to music or set a timer or reminder.
I have one of their speakers connected to one of my TVs and I use the speaker to turn on the TV with Alexa, "Alexa, turn on bedroom TV" and when I do the TV comes on, the speaker comes alive and my Apple TV 4K comes on so I'm ready to go" These are all things the home pods don't do.
The nice thing about the Sonos speaker is they have lots of models so you can create a pretty nice home theater experience if you want to or you can start very small and just get a Roam and be happy with that.
When we travel I take an Apple TV and a Sonos Roam with me in the suitcase and just about wherever I go I'm in business. We recently went to the Azore Islands (off the coast of Portugal) and I set these up at several of the places we stayed and enjoyed my Apple TV while away from home and much better sound than the TV's speakers.
You are right they are not cheap however they are worth every penny! And if you did not look check out their Black Friday deals 20-25% off on most items
Just took a look at their black Friday prices... wow... the sound had better be really phenomenal... I'll stick with home pod mini's all over the house, thanks...
