Apple Music no longer shows album artwork on playlists

This has been driving me nuts and I have been looking for an alternative, and this post from MUD has a link to the Playlist Artwork Shortcut Generator which lets you add text, and chose 4-47 covers in a grid and they are added by most plays! Apple should integrate this in!

For a variety of reasons Apple music has inconvenienced me greatly within the past few weeks. I barely wanted to come back. This album cover update is completely absurd. I agree with the original post saying to go to Spotify. Because when I used them, none of the issues I recently experienced EVER happened.

It needs to be fixed. I do not know what foolish developer thought it would be a good idea and the WHO in their right mind thought to agree.

So sad , I told you guys apple is trash. Its like your parents mediating every step of your life deciding what THEY THINK is best for you. Pay 1000 dollars for a phone and i dont even have the OPTION to do what i want. they do this because you allow them to.

Yes Apple has not thought of the end user fully on that one - more than 70% of people are predominantly visual and as commendable as it is to pursue a great look to make the experience on Apple Music more pleasing they forgot that when having multiple playlists their lack of options render the experience less enjoyable as it makes it looking for a playlist less a visual experience where specific artwork pops out and more of a text experience where you scroll through alphabetically and then somewhere find a playlist that has assigned colours and no originality. Basically they have aligned with their design philosophy and broken away a little bit from what artistic expression brings forward to promote conformity. This also brings about considering changing platform quite naturally for anybody who creates their playlists and interacts with them more through images then text.

I've been trying to change that boring-***, blank "gradient" thing all day, on and off. And now, I find that's a purposeful change?!

Yuck.

As someone below said, that's a total "step back." It's gross and robotic and so uncreative.

Apple, c'mon. Who on your billion person team, made such a dumb move. Do they have nothing else to do, than take a little ounce of fun away from us.

I’ve tried this several times, and it does not work for me. Apple Music selects the first bit of gradient as cover art when I go to save the playlist and that’s that. No opportunity to save it without it.

To avoid the abstract gradient art, I’ve begun using a workaround of creating a playlist then searching for a representative album cover in safari and saving it to my photos. Then in edit I choose that photo as my artwork for the playlist. Works well for single artist playlists. But still a huge waste of time due to Apples silly limitations.

Apple - have the courage to revert back to album artwork being able to be displayed on Playlists. It was a poor decision, as your primacy of "aesthetics" pales in comparison to your users connection to their favourite artists album artwork. Apple should redeploy the artwork capability in the next release.

Yes Robert. I was on the phone with Apple about the Music Bad Art. They dont care. I was sent to the community forum. I was told that apple reads the forum. But pretty much they don't give a D about this. Who r u to tell me to report to them? Do u work there? Do u have the secret handshake?

Apple tech support on the phone told me that Apple reads forum feedback. That I should lidge my concer s there cuz phine tech does nothing. Cant do anything. Some guy I this forum tells me NO. So..this is why I don't use forms much for any company. A Lotta wise guy know-it-all with no real info

This development is very disappointing. After struggling for an hour to find a way of bringing back the album covers in the wonderful four-quarter display, I googled the problem, and discovered "gone with the wind." I agree with all the others. I hate those graphic displays for my playlists. Please change back, or give us the option. Apple, please explain yourself. Is there some reason for such a discouraging change?

Yep....and I found that a list of picture options came up on the screen.they have the nerve to snoop into my personal photos. I removed all my photos and store them on an external drive. I am tired of the snoopy behavior and fixing what isn't broken. Tech downtown says all his customers are steamed up about this nonsense. 🙄

How can I stop getting these messages! The problem has been eradicated from my devices. The first four albums of the playlist appears as they did before. Happy that it is restored, but can I please stop getting these messages!
