Macos update downloaded to system - how to delete downloaded macos update from system

I have checked in settings to download macos updates and I am on Ventura. I dont whant to install Sonoma 14.1.1. but macos downloaded this 6.52Gb on macos system (dont know where). Now when i look at storage it shows that macos is 25.75Gb but before that is was around 16Gb.

How to delete this update so it free up space on main drive?

Thank you.

Check in Applications Folder for a new Application call " Install Sonoma "

If it is there, drag and drop to Trash

Empty Trash

Give it a day and shutdown the computer at the end of the day

Restart to computer in the morning and check again for

I know, I download the Full Version of Sonoma 14.1.1 ( 12.9 GB ) and like yourself, the Empty Space dropped

Use the suggestion above and presto.

Next day the Storage was back to normal

If I may reference and user wrote " I have also problems after updating to sonoma. My magic mouse and trackpad are darkwake my mac mini m1 from sleep and turned the schreen on every couple of hours. The only way I was able to solve this was downgrade to ventura again and all problems are now gone. I will wait a while for another sonoma update. 14.1 update did not solwe this problem. "

There are instances where there are additional Snap Shots occupying space on the Drive
