Face ID doesn’t work with Aviators

Hello,

I am trying to figure out a workaround with the Face ID feature as it doesn’t seem to work while wearing aviator sunglasses. I am an air traffic controller as well as a pilot, so as you can imagine I live in the stereotype that I in fact wear aviator sunglasses. With that stated, I have performed the steps in settings to set up Face ID to work with a face mask as well as glasses. However when you are trying to set up the “work with glasses” feature, it doesn’t do anything except bring you to the screen where you are placing your face within the brackets and then just says “try again” after about 15 seconds. Currently this is happening on an iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 17.1.1. Does anyone know a workaround or if this is a big actively being worked on? Thanks!

iPhone 13 Pro Max, 17
