Restore stops with xxGB left to restore.

Our new IPhone 15 stopped the restore with 1.3GB left. This was the second try. After the first try stopped I did a phone reset and tried again.

I went back to the Apple store and it took 15 seconds for the guy there to figure out the it was Express VPN connecting/reconnecting that stopped the process. He turned off the VPN automatic reconnect, did anyone hard reset, plugged the phone into a power supply and the restore process finished in under 10 minutes.

I am posting this since the solutions I found here didn't work.
