safely remove iphone from windows device

There is no iphone icon on the safely remove device on any windows device. When i remove the iphone multiple (20 + ) warning triangles appear with the message "the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected". There is no safe way to disconnect the iphone from any of my windows devices without receiving these multiple pop up error windows. ery annoying, very frustrating
