I bought a laptop from a friend that has Applecare until November 2024. It seems it's associated with the SN and not with the appleid, as this friend does not pay monthly or annually for the service. However I cannot link the AppleCare to the device,

I bought a laptop from a friend that has Applecare until November 2024. It seems it's associated with the SN and not with the appleid, as this friend does not pay monthly or annually for the service. However I cannot link the AppleCare to the device. It shows something went wrong and cannot load the information for this laptop. If I check from the website for coverage apple, I put the serial number and I can see the Apple care for it. What needs to be done, to be able to link the Apple Care to the laptop?
