Client accidentally accessing Zoom annotation tool

I work remotely with a Client who appears to be accidentally accessing the Zoom annotation tool during our coaching calls. First it was a crosshairs icon (that I'm not familiar with - it isn't the same crosshairs used to capture a screen grab > see photo attached), then it was definitely the eraser function from the Zoom annotation bar.

**please note in the attached photos that you can see *my* annotation tool on the lefthand side of the screen because I'm working with her

I have checked/tried:

  • esc key - doesn't work
  • command+Q - doesn't work
  • force quit application - doesn't work because you can't click on it
  • force reboot - does work with manual button
  • checked hot keys and hot corners settings
  • checked updates for Zoom
  • general inspection for dust/debris
  • the Genius Bar has run diagnostics on her keyboard

A friend mentioned she might have a wireless keyboard somewhere on her desk under papers and that it's been accidentally activated. I plan to check with her on that as well.

Any other thoughts?
