My storage of photos went up suddenly while iCloud updating

I upgraded iCloud plan to 50 gb and just enabled back up. My storage of photos went up to 95 gb from 56 gb suddenly while icloud updating. It is still going up while I’m writing it. I’m too concerned. What can I do? Why does this happen? Is it bug? Will it be fixed after backup process completed?

I understand you are concerned about the rapid rise in storage for your photos. It can happen for a variety of reasons such as increased uploads, older photos taking up more space due to higher resolution, and uploads from other devices. In the meantime, you can try reducing the file size of your old photos to free up some extra space. You can also configure iCloud to delete items from your phone after they are backed up to the cloud. Additionally, you can also see if you can increase your iCloud plan storage to accommodate the higher storage requirement of your photos. It is likely that the issue will be fixed once the backup process is completed, however, if you don't see an improvement then I suggest contacting Apple Support for further assistance.
