iPhone XR - Black Lines on LCD "Sickness" -- Don't Worry, The Lines Go Away Eventually.
Back in February 2023 I got a second-hand 64GB Black iPhone XR... The seller warned me that there was a small black line (1px tall, 1cm long) on the bottom right of the display, that crossed the middle of the iOS dock.
I still bought the phone, because everything else was/is working properly.
Over time, that small black line got bigger and eventually reached the other side of the display, "cutting" the iOS dock in half.
Eventually another small 1px line appeared above it and continued to get longer. I now had a thick 2px tall line on my XR's display.
Few weeks later I decided to hard reset the device for the first time... And now, a 3rd black line, 0.5px tall, showed up over the Weather widget, and again spread to the entire width of the display.
Those lines don't affect the LCD's sensitivity or anything, they're just an aesthetic nuisance.
On october 4 I made a full iTunes restore using the iOS 17.1 IPSW...
And to my surprise, in mid-november, both black lines started to fade to a whitish grey color and shrink.
That first line over the dock is now only over the Phone icon.
So if you have this issue -- There's no need to replace the LCD, the problem will go away on its own (that is, provided you are very patient).
