macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 incorrect date and time

When date and time are set to update automatically, it sets them incorrect values. To fix this I ran sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com in terminal but this is only a temporary fix as it eventually resets to the wrong date and time. Source is set to "time.apple.com." and is off by 3 days 14 hrs and 3 mins (date and time were Friday 24 Nov 7:43 AM when it was actually Monday 27 Nov 9:40 PM).

Yes a known bug. Set it manually, no harm there. Do what works.

Some have had success from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

note: your psswd will not echo on screen, type it in any way use the enter\return key to proceed

reboot if necessary and compare your results
