macOS upgrading

An error comes up when click on Upgrade Now: error passcode is not set. is it the 4-digit code? Where do I set up the passcode? Thanks.

error: passcode is not set. Hello, When upgrade macOS 13.3.1 to macOS Sonoma 14, an error occurred: passcode is not set... while installing... I followed the Safe Mold instruction (from the 2022 replies to same error) to the Safe Boot screen successfully, but didn't solve the issue. I repeated the Safe Mold steps 4 times and still couldn't get the OS upgrade installed. I am using MacBook Pro (M2 Pro 14-Inch 2023), is there a different method than Safe Mold for this model/year? Thank you guys! oldenche

Try restarting in Safe Mode. And updating from there.
