Disconnect the phones on the same apple id

Another "UPDATE" from Apple has my phone connected to my husband's. I know Apple wants us to have our own Apple ID so they keep doing this. Now they have police departments all over the country warning parents and kids to stop the Contact Sharing this update "provided" automatically. I did disconnect that, now I am getting all of my husband's phone calls and voicemails. Do we have to file a complaint with the FCC to stop them from doing this?

The police departments issuing those warnings are basically being advised by idiots. The feature poses no risk. It can not be executed without manual intervention.

Apple is not making changes to force you to use separate IDs. They want to to use separate IDs because of the potential problems with cross contamination of data if you don’t.

There is nothing to report.

Stop sharing an ID.

Thank you for your service, my father was a Marine for 32 years. BUT, you apparently don't have any children (or adults) who might believe someone would give them the wrong information. I am not going to stop sharing an Apple ID, I don't see any point in it except that Apple is constantly "updating" my phone and creating these issues. Why, exactly, would apple care except, perhaps to become less secure, and eventually decide they need to charge for more id's?

If you refuse to stop sharing an ID, you may as well stop asking for help on an official Apple forum then. Apple has documented that the sharing of Apple IDs is not recommended. If you have problems because you are doing so, we can’t be of much help to you.

Apple does not charge for Apple ID. That statement is ridiculous on its face.

It works the way Apple intended it to work. It’s not just Apple’s ‘opinion’ of how it should work.

If the way it works does not suit your needs, I suggest you look for a different product that does.
