Some webpage UNICODE characters are not displayed correctly on Mac Studio

A number of pages visited with more than one browser that contain Unicode characters will display those characters incorrectly. I have tried adjusting the system's Preferred Languages.. I tried using a recommended Unicode font. Alas nothing seems to correct how those characters are displayed. For example this is a snippet from a French language site:

I have seen similar font display problems on English language pages. Switching web browsers does not fix the presentation.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

This normally indicates the people who put up the web page failed to code it correctly, so that browsers do not know what encoding to use. You may be able to see them correctly in Safari by going to View > Text Encoding and choosing something different like Latin 1.

If you provide the url we can check the coding.
