MacBook Pro Bezel Cracked

The bezel inexplicably cracked during normal usage without any discernible impact. The crack is subtle and remains unnoticed under regular lighting conditions. However, it becomes glaringly apparent when viewed under bright and direct light. Importantly, the crack did not result from mishandling or external impact but rather highlights a clear issue with the quality of materials, manufacturing, or assembly. I am disappointed with Apple. This is a new screen that was replaced in July 2023, and I only noticed the crack after 90 days. This issue persists irrespective of their warranty. This resembles the quality of a generic product and I have lost trust in Apple products, as they no longer uphold the premium quality they once stood for. They seem extremely fragile and disproportionately expensive with little value for money. Beware from being cheated.

I would suggest you reach out again to Apple Support and ask for their assistance in sorting this out, you may need to ask to have your case escalated to a Supervisor for consideration.

You can provide Apple with product feedback here (Apple won't respond):

You can also try contacting Apple corporate to see if that may make any difference:

FYI, it really is more of a design flaw than anything else. This glass bezel has no support behind it since it is covering the multiple display cables. Putting any pressure on the Bezel when cleaning it can cause it to crack. Or if anything gets stuck in between the display and keyboard.....even a piece of paper or index card can be enough to put enough pressure on the Bezel to cause it to crack.

Technically it is possible to replace just the Bezel (inexpensive part), but it is not easy to do even for someone with lots of experiencing replacing the Bezel. There is always a high risk of damaging one of the very thin fragile Display flex cables hidden beneath the Bezel. However, Apple does not do this, they will only replace the entire Display Assembly (very expensive). Most techs probably cannot replace it as they don't have the skills. I've had a lot of experience with dealing with Apple adhesives and lots of practice with these Bezels, but once in a while I may make a mistake (usually the Bezels have pieces of glass falling out).

If you want to help keep the Bezel from splitting more at the crack, you can cut & fit a piece of black electrical tape over the crack.
