Sonoma update 14.1.1 Finder and App Window Bug
I have a 2023 MacBook Pro M2. I'm running a second display and using my laptop display also. On my secondary display, I've set four desktop spaces while my Macbook desktop is a separate static display—it always has the same thing up and doesn't switch when I change the other desktop.
Since updating to Sonoma 14.1.1, I've noticed a lot of bugs with my app and finder windows. I keep a specific set of apps on the static laptop display—email, project management software, and some other stuff I access often.
Previously, opening something that would pop up a new window (such as an email) on the static display would open the new window on the same display. But now, when I open something, it opens on my second display and it is usually layered under things where I can't see it. Sometimes, clicking on it doesn't bring it forward; I have to swipe to show all open windows on that display and then move it over to the other display, and nothing else on that display will change its layer position either till I move the new thing back over to where it was supposed to open. Other times it opens on the wrong display but behaves normally and will come forward when I click. What's really frustrating is when I have Outlook open and run an editing check but the popup window telling me it's done is buried somewhere in the windows on the wrong display and I can't do anything in Outlook till I find it.
It's really annoying because the desktop spaces are awesome for productivity, but searching around for the right app or finder window is not productive.
