how do you change your installer programs password

trying to install office 365 on my mac

installer asks for password

gave it password and it does not recognize any

how do I work around


iMac, macOS 10.13

It wants the password for your user account on the Mac. The one you used to log into it. If you are not an administrator on your Mac, you will need someone with admin credentials to install it.


If you subscribe to MS 365, I highly recommend installing the versions of the apps from the Mac App Store instead of using the installer downloaded directly from MS. Updates are cleaner and better managed.
