Now, I may just be incredibly naive but I was always led to believe that TM backed up everything on my computer. Tried to access an earlier version of Reminders today. The list of applications is a fraction of the number on my computer. One of the missing ones is Reminders. Can I find them somewhere else or have they not been backed up. If this is the case how can I make a true and complete backup of my MacBook Pro?

Time Machine doesn't back up bundled applications in Big Sur and newer; these are reinstalled with the OS. Their data is in your home folder and will be backed up with it unless put in the Trash or manually excluded.

Are you using iCloud ? Then reminders are backed up in iCloud, not on your local Time Machine
