Using iMac as extended screen display for MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro 14 M3 and an iMac 21.5 inch late 2015. I would like to use the iMac as a display/extended screen with the MacBook. Is this possible and if so, how can I set it up?

This is not possible. Target display mode has been discontinued after 2012 I am afraid.

Late 2014. It went away at the same time that the first 27" 5K Retina iMac came out – and never returned. So the OP's Late 2015 iMac wouldn't have it.

Apple also placed restrictions on "the other Mac" which mean that a M3 MacBook Pro cannot use ANY iMac as a Target Display Mode display – even an iMac that supports that feature.
