how do I permanently unlock the trash in my phots?
After deleting a photo, if I want to recover it from the trash, I need to unlock the trash-every time. Is there not a way to leave the trash can unlocked?

You can only disable the locking of the Hidden Photos and the Recently Deleted album together. This can be done in the Photos > Settings > General. Disable the checkmark for "Privacy". Then the Hidden Photos and Recently Deleted album will no longer require a password or TouchID.
