Symbolic link seems not working at Mac 14.1.1 anymore
Regardless of whether I use the ln s- command or the file created using Symbolic Linker, the file information is showed "Alias", and the effect is exactly the same as Alias.

Sometimes Terminal command syntax can change with OS updates. I just tried this and it worked as an example for you that creates a symbolic link from Downloads onto the Desktop.
ln -s /Users/your_user_name/Downloads /Users/your_user_name/Desktop
