Apple TV 4K Wireless Audio / ARC Soundbar Issue

When watching Dolby Vision/Atmos content on Apple TV+ or Netflix, my soundbar, connected via ARC to the TV, delivers sound with very little to no delay. But one night when I tried to use my Airpods Pro 2 for private listening, I couldn’t help but notice a half-a-second audio delay.

I was aware of ATV’s Wireless Audio Sync option in the settings so I ran it (both for 4K DV @ 23.976 and 4K DV @ 24) and it fixed the issue with my Airpods. Next morning, when I tried to continue watching the show, it was then the soundbar that went out of sync.

I have run the WAS option twice, same results.

My only work around for now is to run it every time I will use my Airpods and then disable/reset the calibration afterwards, which is a pain in the butt considering I almost have to do this every night.

I have the latest ATV 4K with match dynamic range and match frame rate both on, my soundbar is a pretty old and basic Samsung 2.1ch, and my TV is TCL C745 or Q7 in the US if that helps.

TV audio setting: ARC, Auto (Setting it to Passthrough or PCM doesn’t make any difference)
