Show all songs on an album in iTunes

Several albums -- especially those with many songs or classical music divided into movements -- do not show all songs on an album. If possible, I would like to see all songs, with the "Show composers in all views" box checked. Is this possible?

It's possible, especially with classical works, that the album gets split up due to different artists appearing on some tracks. But don't panic, it's fixable.

Choose one of the problem albums. Look carefully at the artist field for the tracks on it. You will probably find that the artist field has several variations of the artist. The fix is to add the text Various Artists to the album artist field.

Study the screenshots in my example below:

In this first view, I'm looking in the Songs view (1.), selecting the Classical genre (2.) (which in this case will show the complete album). I've then filtered the view by artist (3.) - and here's the issue:

Only three tracks are shown (5.)

But look further down the artist list at the entry I've ringed (below 3, above 5). Let's select that artist:

The same album, but once again, only three tracks. This is because the list of artists is different (yes, Elizabeth Wallfisch is in both lists, but Antony Robson is in the second, but not the first).

Now let's look at the all artists filter and select the album:

All 24 tracks are shown.

The fix is to select all the tracks on the album then choose Edit/Get Info/Details and add the text Various Artists to the album artist field - and make sure that the compilation field is on (make sure there's a tick in the box):

That should keep the album together (but make sure to attend to both the album artist and the compilation fields.
