iOS 17.1.2 iPhone 15 Pro Max massive battery drain issue

Same, i charged my phone every 30-40h before ios17.1.2, after it i charged my phone every 14-15h, switched to 17.2 didn't help, hope they will fix this in next update, battery gone even if i left my phone without wifi for whole night and it's didn't even show any apps used

I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max brand new and since the iOS update to 17.1.2 the battery drain is insane.

Before the battery life was bad but now is worst…

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and recently updated to IOS 17.1.2 and now my battery drains massively. I went to bed last night, checked my battery, it was at 30%. Woke up late this morning as alarm didn’t go off, phone was dead!

Ok, so let’s clarify some things.

I use my phones alarm feature to wake me up in the morning. When I go to bed I put the phone into do not disturb and I close the screen. I always check the charge status prior to doing this, now, I have before now gone to bed with less than 10% charge and the phone has retained its charge (IOS 16), and woke me up in the morning. So yes, the fact the phone died at 30% since I updated to the latest IOS is obviously an IOS issue!

I have an Apple replacement battery installed in my 10R. Was at 100% health. 17.1 went to 98% now with 17.1.2 97% and falling. Guess by design to keep you always buying another. Planned obsolescence by design.

How long ago did you have the battery replaced in your Xr? You can fully expect to lose from 1 -2% in battery health per month. Batteries are consumable parts and with every full cycle charge, batteries lose some of their health compared to new. It's not stoppable. Just as you have to replace batteries in your flashlight, so too do ALL batteries degrade with use. If you want to call that planned obsolescence, I suppose you can. But not when it comes to batteries which naturally lose their ability to hold a charge.

K fr though my iPhone 12 is dropping 1 - 2% every 3 minutes and sometimes I can just watch it as it goes down. I have done all I can to preserve the battery in it as well and it’s still dying very quickly.

iOS 17.2. was fine, the battery was working good. BUT: iOS 17.2.1 literally RUINED it. My 1,5 month old iphone 15 Pro is dropping so much percentage of battery by NORMAL ACTIVITIES! Even turning off the iPhone and turning it back on drops 4% of battery. This needs to be fixed or I’ll stop making updates in future!

I have the iPhone 11 and after upgrading to iOS 17.1.1 I also had the issue of excessive battery drain. After upgrading to iOS 17.1.2 it seems to have SIGNIFICANTLY improved as I can pretty much go a full day now without having to charge and still have a bit of battery left the next morning

Same with me > 17.2.1 on mine 6 days old 15PM. Even the battery drains quickly in comparison to mine previous 3 yers old iPhone 11. I did and follow the improvement tweaks in the net but this doesn’t help much(including the force restart option).So the only hope is apple to release a fix soon. This effect also the battery cycle and lifespan as we have to charge the phone more frequently.

same thing with me , my new 15 pm would give me 24 to 26 hours of battery time , now it barely lasts 18 hours .

Same problem as well to me just updated my 15 pro max and the battery drain so fast please fix this problem on next update from ios 17.1 till now the same issue 15 pro max users facing same problem

Lobster no joy. After doing your little diddy. I opened 2 apps. Went from 83% to 81% after opening and just closing the 2 apps. So naw that doesn’t work.

I update at one of and update. Just since checking

email and then posting this reply dropped now to 78%. So more to this issue. Only thing I’ve not done is a reset or a total wipe.

I have a 10R never had any issues with other iOS updates. Had a new battery put in. Was at 100% health and iOS 17 came out. After iOS 17.1 battery health fell to 97% where it’s at now.
