videos, iphone sync, library fixes for iTunes in 2024

Hello,

i encountered many issues with iTunes on Windows since several years, since my iPhone 3G to this iPhone 15, so here are most common problems when running iTunes well on Windows systems/PC.

Phoned Apple support, and effectively iTunes works really really fine, it's not an Apple problem. On windows, it's almost always the user problem, so here are some issues & solutions from my experience through years.

I just hope it will help windows users to make iTunes "normal" & sync iPhones, watch movies, make library.. all good !!

->

1- install iTunes from Microsoft Store, it auto-update and runs fine.

2- issues :

a) iTunes crashes at launch .

> press & hold CTRL + SHIFT keys (& click iTunes), it runs iTunes in safe mode, it must launch.

b) iTunes crashes in Library, or my Library is corrupted.

> press & hold SHIFT key (& click iTunes),it asks to locate your Library file or to Create a new one. i recommend you create a new. Generally it's by default in your user "music/iTunes" folder (or look in sub-folder...). name it "iTunes Library" & overwrite old one eventually.

c) iTunes crashes when importing/adding my music.

> try to delete/move all playlist *.m3u, *.pls files away, & retry.

d) iTunes freezes when i try to watch a movie.

> if you got two monitors like streamers, press WINDOWS key + P & select Only one monitor.

> if you're on a laptop, try your nVidia panel or AMD panel, or intel, to run apps on your gfx card. or try Windows settings, apps display to integrated graphic chip or accelerated gfx chip..

e) iTunes crashes when i click iPhone icon top-left to sync it.

> your windows user profile is certainly corrupted due to Hard Drive/SSD errors, viruses, etc. You can't fix a corrupted user profile. The Only solution, a bypass, is to make another user profile, & copy back from your old profile, all documents, saves, images, videos.. to your new user profile;
