Sonoma Autobackup Creating Duplicates: How to Stop

I've just upgraded my 2020 Mini (M1) to Sonoma (now 14.1.2). In checking my iCloud, I notice that, in addition to backing up my desktop and Documents folder, it creates duplicates of almost 700 Rapid Weaver files. I can find these same files buried in my Documents folder, but I certainly don't need them cluttering up my iCloud folder or taking up costly storage space.

I assume I can simply delete these duplicates, but it looks like they keep propagating, by the looks of the time stamps on the modification column.

Ho w do I keep this from happening?
