Mail's "Send Later..." function saves sent message to incorrect IMAP folder

Can't find an email you sent with the "Send Later" function introduced in Mail on Ventura?

In my case, I discovered that Mail has created a second folder on the IMAP server, named "Sent Messages", and it files email scheduled with "Send Later..." in this new mailbox, while continuing to file email sent with the normal send function in my normal "Sent" folder.

Further details:

My email accounts (hosted by Dreamhost) in Mail are configured to use the prefix INBOX/ for the standard special folders, i.e., Sent Mailbox is set to INBOX/Sent on the server.

The INBOX/ prefix is standard for Dreamhost, and it normally works as desired across macOS and iOS devices.

However, in the case of scheduled emails sent using "Send Later...", Mail ignores the user-specified IMAP folder above and creates a new "Sent Messages" folder on the server. The sent messages are findable if you know where to look for them, but this isn't how it's supposed to work. For example, these emails don't show up in the special "All Sent" super folder in iOS Mail (aka simple "Sent" on the Mac).

Rumor has it that "Sent Messages" is the default name that Mail gives to the IMAP sent folder, so this looks to me like a case of "Send Later..." using the manufacturer default instead of consulting the user settings.

Mac Studio, macOS 13.6
