Face ID and camera are not working after the 17.1.2 update?

I just did the newest update and my Face ID along with my camera will not work. Is anyone else having this issue?

Having this problem as well since January or February, does yours still have the issue?


Apple online support telling me it's a software issue that might get fixed in the future but I'm not convinced they know what's going on.


I've done a complete restore of the phone using "DFU Mode" still persists, can't set up FaceTime now never mind use it.


Camera is very slow to open, works mostly fine once it has. Once it's up and running I can switch to front camera with no problems but switch back to the rear camera causes a crash and the camera app reopens.


Not able to use any 3rd party apps like WhatsApp with the camera, it 'can't be opened' from within the apps. Must just time out when trying to open it.


Going to take the device into the Apple Store and look someone in the eye.
