Why can’t my wife also make personal requests with voice recognition? You do realize people live together, right?

Apple home. Invitation for second owner successful, no option to make my wife also an owner. She shows up as “admin” if I enable add/remove devices. No lossless option for her in Music app setting (within home app), nor voice recognition for personal requests.

Yep, I did misunderstand. I thought you wanted to be able to allow your wife to access your personal information, but now understand that you want it to allow her personal information based on her voice recognition.

In any case, what you are wanting is not possible with the HomePod. Only your personal information is accessible using your voice recognition. It is a multiple user platform in the sense that anyone can direct it to play music or control your home accessories, but it is not able to access multiple users private information based on their voice. Your personal requests are detailed here on this support article:

If there is enough interest, it may be something they implement in the future and the feedback link may help.

The HomePod allows you to invite other users to control Home accessories, but not to access your personal data. She is still able to use Siri to play music/playlists on the HomePod, but cannot delete any information or mark a song as a favorite since that is your personal data. Your personal data can only be accessed by your voice even if you invite another person to control the accessories in your home. You are welcome to send feedback on this behavior.
