Macbook Pro M1 2021 with external monitor Dell u2720q. MacBook will not recognize monitor after 2 years of use.

1. Hold Down: the Option key
2. Click: the Apple menu
3. Choose: System Information or System Report
4. Select: Graphics/Displays from the list on the left
5. Look For: any external display

C. Single Out this User:

For temporary use and troubleshooting purposes, create a new Administrator User, seeing if all shows up as it should. If so, then it is likely an issue with the current user itself. Once determined, delete this Administrator User.
