Issue in Logic Pro

Hi guys. I recently bought a new Mac and had to update and redownload a bunch of stuff, including Logic. There's a feature I used in Logic that now I can't find, as the keyboard shortcut has changed. I assuming it's changed because of the Touchpad and new key assignments in the new Mac and no fault of Logic. I make backing tracks and sometimes I need to place the playhead right on a click track beat, not using divisions, regions or bars etc. I could drag the position of the header to wherever i wanted with precise placement, by holding down the Control key and using the mouse to drag the header to where I wanted, aligning it to any point in the song. Now when I do this in Logic, the header moves to the next beat or measure. I don't want this. I need to be able to drag it with "precise placement" and align it and any point I want to, regardless of measures, beats etc.

Can someone please help me as I can't work properly on my tracks as I can't align the playhead where I want and can't find the right key to do this.

It is pretty easy. Above all the tracks just under the volume slider is something that says SNAP. This is how you can adjust where your regions or playhead land. It probably says Smart, Bar or Beat. Just put your cursor up there and click the on/off button. Now you can move things like you want.

Also when you do have things set to smart, etc, you can use the DRAG feature on how you want things to move.

There are several channels on Youtube with Logic tutorials and my favorite is MusicTechHelpGuy. He does a really good job of explaining things. But to save you some time, you should watch episode #06. And here is the link for this episode. It's about 20 minutes long, but you'll have most of your questions explained in the first 8 minutes. When you have some time you should watch as many episodes as possible from the beginning.

Hope this helps
