Is there a way to minimize an application by clicking on the applications icon on the dock?
Example, clicking on the icon on the dock opens Mail, when I am done with that and want to minimize Mail, is there a setting to allow me to click again on the Mail icon to minimize the application.
If you Option-click, the previous app will hide and the new app appear. It also hides the current app if you Option-click it.
You could use a macro app like Keyboard Maestro to program an F key to click on the yellow dot in the upper left hand corner of the front window to minimize the app.
KM is probably the most powerful macro app and there are many more at the App Store. Just search for macro. A number of them are free.
