apple music locks up on ipad

For the last week or so, my iPad 7 with the latest iPadOS will not play more than one song on Apple Music. Not that it is on repeat. The app locks up. Then I can force kill the app and it will play the first song I choose that time as well. Then it might play part of a second song. But it won’t update the screen. I have reset my iPad, restored from a backup and started from scratch by erasing all apps and settings.

please advise.
