Echo sound when playing music on my Homepods

Hi there, I had the same problem each time after handing over music from my iPhone to my HomePods. I've noticed that the problem occurred after the song I handed off was finished and the next song started playing. The echoing would get worst with the start of each new song after that. I use Apple Music for streaming and handing off music from my iPhone to my HomePods.

I've managed to fix it by doing the following on my iPhone (if you are using an iPad to handoff or stream music to your HomePods try doing the following on your iPad):

1. go to settings on you iPhone/iPad
2. Scroll down to Music (if you are using Apple Music for streaming like I do)
3. Scroll down to audio
4. Turn off the crossfade option
5. Restart the Apple Music app and if you want you can also restart your HomePods (I did not have to restart my HomePods for this fix to work)
6. Play/stream/handoff music to your HomePods and wait for the next song to start to see if this fixed your problem.

I hope that this will fix your problem with music echoing on your HomePods so that you can enjoy listening to your favorite songs in stereo once again.

Restart a couple of times.

• Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
• Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Why the Issue?

• Interference: This is likely an error with interference. So, start here: If your AirPods Pro make crackling or static sounds - Apple Support
• If Used in a Closed Space: Does it sound muffled? If you are using these in a closed room, then echos can come about.
