how can I use spotify on apple watch se 2022 without the need to depend on my iphone?

i already have the premium account

i can use watch to control spotify on my iphone

but my watch cannot play music, or let me listen to spotify through airpods

The Spotify app is so glitchy that it presents a whole host of problems, usually that I can’t even choose to play music from my watch and not my phone if my phone is next to me and connected to the same Wi-Fi. If I go out of range of phone and Wi-Fi (my watch is not cellular) I am unable to play downloaded music directly from my Apple Watch into my AirPods - I sometimes can’t even connect my AirPods to the watch. It’s extremely frustrating and seems like amateur app development from such a premium product.

Spotify on Apple Watch, No iPhone Hi all - I have my son using an Apple Watch SE2 with cellular as his only device. He got AirPods and wants to play music. Other sites indicated listening to Spotify on an Apple Watch was possible, but when I tried to download the app on his watch it says “Requires iPhone” in the App Store. My phone is the device which his watch was set up with and I have the app on both my phone and my own Apple Watch, and each work fine. Any ideas how he can use Spotify?

Unable to play Spotify on my Apple Watch Series 10 Hi, I recently purchased an Apple Watch Series 10. I saw that you can play music through its speakers, but it doesn't work very well when using Spotify. It just loads the song for a bit and then plays it using my iPhone’s speakers.
