Hi everyone!
I have a very strange thing going on here. I can't seem to have an output via the ultrastudio monitor 3g.
It does however work perfectly in Resolve Studio and even Adobe Premiere Pro. Yet nothing when I use Final cut. Any idea's what this could be? Running latest software of everything on a M1Max MacBook pro.

There was a post a few weeks ago on this forum about a similar issue. I've also seen something similar on the BMD forum. Check out the following Apple Support link and see if it fixes your problem:

yes exactly, that’s the case.
Av output is available but only the option to choose the secondary apple display as output. Not the Blackmagic one. I had this working in the past though…. Already reverted back and forth between different driver versions of the Blackmagic driver. But no luck. Yet it always works in premiere and resolve. So it definitely gets recognised by the system.
I am literally having the same issue on FCP with my blackmagic ultrastudio monitor 3G. Premiere Pro and Davinci resolve both show it as available as playback output but FCP does not. It was available but I do no remember the last time I used it so I can only speak to my current setup.
FCP 10.7 on M1 Ultra Mac Studio running Sonoma 14.1.2
I cannot use this method as my system is managed through my employer. The device is currently confirmed to work on Sonoma 14.1.2 as it works as expected with both Adobe Premiere and Davinci Resolve but not in FCP.

Today I tried something different because my director wanted to sit in the coach and have a monitoring option on the iPad. So I installed the NDI monitoring app on the iPad and on macOS. And again I run into the same issue!! It works in premiere and resolve but the av output option stays greyed out in Final Cut Pro. So something is going on here. Some extension must be blocked by the system is my best guess.
If some of the wizards on this forum have a solution for this, that would be amazing!

Yes but I can’t use my own dual monitor setup then. Then one of them has to have the viewer in full screen so that can be mirrored on the iPad. Or is there a way to use 3 displays without an av output and use the third monitor to only show the viewer?

You can't have AV Output going to the iPad.
But you can still have your dual screen setup, and mirror the second screen to the iPad.
You'd have the main interface on one screen, and the Viewer in both the second screen and the iPad.
Yes exactly but i would like to have the av output working :). Av output on iPad does work if you use NDI monitor app. But this is now not working for some reason. The same problem as with the blackmagic ultrastudio mini
Can’t the iPad mirror whatever has the viewer? I assume that’s what the producer wants to see. Does it matter if they see more than the just the output? If it does matter to them they’re in the wrong business. Just my opinion, but I’ve worked in control rooms and edit rooms for a very long time.
Obviously, it should work... sorry at the moment, I have no idea why it doesn't.
If they're using an iPad you can of course mirror your screen onto it.

Great - glad it helped. It was just something I noticed in passing on the Resolve forum. Hopefully this might be useful to others as well.
