Can’t pair Apple Watch given as a gift to my iPhone

I was giving an Apple Watch by a friend. She doesn’t remember her iCloud log in or password. How do I reset the activation so I can pair it with my iPhone.

You will need your friend’s Apple ID (iCloud) and Password to remove the Activation lock. You can reset the Apple Watch to factory settings, however, it will ask for the previous owner’s credentials once you reach the Activation step. There is no way around this.

Ask our friend to try the following links to retrieve her Apple ID and possibly the Password:
