External Display MBP M1 via DVI

Hey there!

MBP M1 13" 2020 with Monterey 12.4

I want to connect an old NEC Display (MultiSync P221W) and I tried a USB C to DisplayPort adapter. This connects to a DP to DVI adapter. This then is connected through a DVI-D Single Link cable to the NEC display. The good thing is, the MBP recognizes the screen and shows it in the settings. The bad thing is, the NEC screen stays black. No signal found on DVI. Tried various settings in resolution an restarted the MBP, no success.

Any experiences here?

You can get USB-C to DVI-D cable or adapter at Amazon which could works.

1680 x 1050 native resolution, so it looks like single-link DVI should be enough. If the resolution had been greater than 1920 x 1200, you would have needed a dual-link DVI adapter and cable.

Yes, that would be worth a try. But I first wanted to use the existing stuff here...
