Subscriptions upgrade/downgrade

Hi Apple Community,

My application offers three subscription plans:

  1. Weekly charges ($8)
  2. Pro (Yearly) charges at $80
  3. Premium (Yearly) charges at $150

Could you clarify the following:

  1. If I upgrade my subscription from the free plan to Premium, can Apple Pay automatically manage the subscription?
  2. If I upgrade my subscription from Pro to Premium, can Google and Apple Pay automatically handle the transition, or will it create two subscriptions and charge the user for both?

I want to ensure whether the upgrade process seamlessly manages the subscriptions or if it results in the creation of duplicate subscriptions and charges for the user.

Best Regards,

Luqman

In-app subscription options for iOS apps are charged to the pre-authorized payment method for the user’s Apple ID account. That is automatic to the user, and mostly irrelevant to the developer. Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID - Apple Support.

Typically subscription tiers replace other options. But it depends on what the app offers; it could be two unrelated perks. If Premium includes everything from Pro with some extras, then that would replace it.
