IPod touch says won’t activate bc activation server can’t be reached

How to activate my daughter’s iPod touch? It tells me it can not be activated because the activation server can not be reached and it won’t let me do anything else.. please help!!

If there is an activation lock on your iPod, try following the steps in this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201441.
