MS Word office 365 insertion point cursor disappears

Maybe hit a keystroke combination by mistake but only in my open MS word docs the insertion point cursor is gone. Anyone else have this problem?

Menu bar disappearance in Word This is an incredibly minor problem but my menu bar disappears whenever I go to full screen, specifically in Microsoft Word. I have already altered the setting which prevents the menu bar from automatically disappearing in full screen and it is currently set to "never". However, the menu bar still disappears in full screen but only in Microsoft Word. I have also already tried restarting my computer. If anyone has had this problem before and found a solution, help would be very much appreciated!

MS Word will not drag-to-highlight Recently, MSWord's drag-cursor-to-highlight stopped functioning. I am on a Mac Studio on OS Ventura 13.5, and Magic Mouse (bluetooth) MS Word is latest version (16.81) as part of Microsoft Office 365 subscription I know I could update my OS to Sonoma, but unless this MS Word problem is specific to Ventura - it's been working fine for months on Ventura - I'm not ready to update to Sonoma. It's a sudden change that seemed to occur without making any changes to Word or my OS. All other Word functions, creating docs, fonts saving, printing, etc. still work fine. Even double-clicking on a line of text highlights the whole line as before. Just can't drag my cursor across a line to highlight as before Thank god I have Open Office Writer to mimc Word in the meantime...but I'd like word to be working properly again.

Microsoft Word is reopening documents that I've already closed when I respond "SAVE" to a dialog box. But MY WORK IS NOT SAVED. Using Microsoft Word's most recent update (Nov 2023) on a MacBook Air using OS Sonoma 14.1... I can manually save changes in my Word document and the changes appear to be saved. The problem only occurs when I try to CLOSE the document. Then -- even though I've already saved my changes -- a dialog box appears saying I need to save my changes or lose them. The other options are "Don't Save" or "Cancel". So, I press "SAVE" and the document appears to close BUT IT REOPENS. Every time I retry the sequence I get the same result. I cannot close the document. And if I were to press "DONT SAVE" (just to be able to close the document), then none of my changes are saved, even though they appear to have been saved while I was editing it.

It was fixed by quitting and restarting Word. The obvious go to solution but always curious if anyone else had experienced this.

I haven't had that problem (with Word 16.79.2 and Sonoma 14.1.2) and I haven't seen other reports of it here.
