iPhone 15 not staying in nightstand mode
why does iphone 15 exit night stand mode when its finished charging even though it remains plugged in and on its side? How can I keep it in nightstand mode even after it’s fully charged?

That's because iPhone 15 does not include an Always On Display. For Nightstand to remain active all night, you need an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max which does have an Always On Display.
