Adding credit card to wallet on IPhone 12

I had added a credit card to the wallet. It was compromised and was blocked and then cancelled. A replacement was sent to my home address. Within 2 days of despatch and before I received it, it appeared on my wallet. It was 5 days before I received it physically and it had not been activated. It was also compromised - before I even received it - and again was cancelled. A third card was despatched and it, to, appeared on my wallet before I received it. How can this happen and how can a card be used (compromised) before it is activated?

When you add a card, your issuer may indeed post updates (new expiration, cvv, or new cards issued). You can always elect to remove a card. Or, add any card that you wish.

Use of the card before receipt is not a wallet issue but one for your card issuer. For example, recurring payments may roll over to a newly issued card as May charges made on the previous card. Talk to your card issuer.

Thanks. So once I put a card on my wallet I lose control of it? I might not have wanted to put the new card on the wallet. Also, how could the card be attempted to be used by someone when I had not even received or activated it? Is there anything I can do to maintain control of what goes on my wallet?
