I want to trade my phone in and get a new phone but it said I’m not an authorized user or something and I would have to pay full priced up front to get the new phone. How do I fix this?

You would have to contact the authorized user and ask them to go thru these steps. Afterwards, you can log in with your Apple ID. At that point, you will be the authorized user.
