I no longer have a PC. I can no longer sync my Library between my iPad and iPhone and have lost my playlists and most music from my iPhone. Is ITunes Match useless for me?

I cannot turn on Sync Library on music under Settings, even though i have iTunes Match. I’ve been without a PC for over a year, and I’ve continued to keep my music in the Library on both of my devices, iPhone and iPad, even with an upgrade in iPhone over a year ago, and fear I’ve lost most of the music on the iPhone for good. The iTunes Match was renewed around the time the music disappeared from the Apple Music App on the iPhone. My guess is that I’ve lost the ability to sync between the two devices without the PC. If I learn that’s the case, I’ll cancel Match as it’s of no use. Thanks.

With iTunes Match you can only add new media to your iCloud Music Library by matching/uploading from a PC, or by purchasing from the iTunes Store. Apple Music is a better solution if you only want to keep two devices in sync with each other as this also allows you to select new music from the collection. The danger with cancelling your iTunes Match subscription right now is that you might lose content on your devices that is there by dint of you using the cloud music service. At the very least you might try downloading any content that is currently in the cloud and then turn off sync library to see if it remains before you cancel the subscription.

If you are able to get temporary access to a computer see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community so you copy off all of your content to an external hard drive.

My devices do not permit me to enable Sync, and my iPhone has recently lost most of the music I had on it. Since I’m unable to sync between the two devices, anyway without a PC, and I’m unwilling to spend more money to get Apple Music, I’m just going to cancel iTunes Match and accept whatever happens. I was hoping that I could just continue to sync what I currently have, even though I would not be buying any new music. I’ve learned that’ll never happen and accept that. I appreciate your response! No reason for anyone else to respond.
