Created a new Apple ID but had mistakenly used my old Apple ID that was associated to work email that I will no longer have access to in the future. So my question is, Can I change the email address tied to the old Apple ID?

I am also looking for the process to change the email adress of the Apple ID. I know these document, but I find various informations to start in the web. I have to change for an iPad and an iPhone in my family because of wedding. Some people write, that it’s necessary to log off of the iCloud totally and to save all the fotos, documents, filesetc. local on the iPad and iPhone before changing the Email adress on https://appleid.apple.com/ (Backups would exist on my Mac).
I would be happy to receive informations what‘s the safe and correct way and would all files remain in the iCloud or would I have to transfer to a „renamed“ Apple ID with it‘s empty iCloud?
