Mac Studio crashed overnight

I just bought a Mac Studio a couple months ago. I've generally been very happy with it, but have noticed a couple odd things lately.

First, the Seagate drive I use for Time Machine backups disconnects from time to time. This is the error I get:

I thought that was a Seagate issue originally. But today when I went to wake the machine up, it was off. I have 7.59 free TB. Plenty of memory, and everything is up to date:

I never shut down at night... is that something I should be doing? Apple did advise me that wasn't necessary with previous machines.

Also, I couldn't help but notice there were a lot of Time Machine backups yesterday. Way more than previously. Might this have something to do with it?

Time machine manages it own space. When it needs more space, it will take care of creating more space, by consolidating, NOT DELETING older backups. ¿Were you going to rent out the excess?

Its stored files are double-locked, and any attempt to delete anything with Finder will result in a Trash Can full of un-deletable stuff, and a backup SET that has lost its integrity.

Don't touch it.
