that Mac can run up to and including Big Sur.

and if you have the time, I would upgrade one macOS at I time up to Big Sur. and at minimum, I think I would at least upgrade to Catalina before going on to Big Sur.
and finally, note that with Catalina and Big Sur, any 32 bit applications you have will stop working. you will need to see if they have a 64 bit version. and if not, either stop upgrading at Mojave, or find sutable replacements for them.
