Deregister iMessage

Im trying to deregister my number from iMessage and I keep getting a message “please enter a valid phone”. My phone number is valid. What do I do?

I am trying to deregister my number using deregister imessage online, however, it is saying my number isn't a valid number? I have just put my sim card into an android phone and need to deregister imessage. I can't do this in my old phone as it is not working. It is saying that my phone number is not correct?

Did you enter the phone number without parenthesis and dashes? If you did and you still get the “enter a valid phone number” message, then that means that the number you entered is not associated with an Apple ID or iMessages.
